Due to the train strike on that day and hence the difficulties
travelling from more distant branches, the organisers have
decided to cancel this social and hope to re-schedule it in the Spring.
However... we have 2 beer festivals on that weekend in our area;
The Thatched House, Exwick and the Sir Walter Raleigh, East Budleigh.

A 'Cider-themed' Ploughman's type of lunch will be available and a list started.

DBC beers are on tap and nibbles will be provided.

and Branch meeting. BBQ etc.

with visits to the New Inn, Coleford and the
Duck at Yeoford. Train from Exeter St.Davids 11.19
(Central 11.14) to Yeoford. 45 minute easy
country lane walk to New Inn for lunch and
very good ciders (and beers).
Return walk to the Duck (more cider/beer).
Possible Beer Engine on way home if the right
returning train is used.

Thurs 3rd Aug - Topsham to Exmouth walk
12pm meet at the Bridge, Topsham.
Then walk down the Exe Cyclepath with stops at Exton
(Puffing Billy) and Lympstone (Redwing plus check
others?) to arrive at the GWRSA Club, Exmouth (plus
wherever you fancy)
Other means of transport are possible (for instance if
weather bad), but not planned.

Tues 11th July, River Exe and Exeter Canal boat trip.
Fully booked for our group of 40.
Meet by the Beach Hotel, Exmouth 10.30 am for boarding passes.
On arriving at Exeter Quay we can do a tour of the area and those with
stamina may get to the Tap Takeover (Teignworthy) at the Sawyers Arms (7pm)

Beer Engine, Newton St. Cyres 2.45. People on the bus will be dropped off at the end in Exeter.
