Advance Tickets - EFOB 2026

It’s with great pleasure we announce that the Exeter & East Devon CAMRA (Campaign for Real Ale) branch will be holding its

36th Exeter Festival of Beer, 2026
at the
Exeter Corn Exchange
Market Street
Exeter, EX1 1BW

on:

Thursday 15th Jan 16:00 to 22:00
Friday 16th Jan 11:00 to 22.00
Saturday 17th Jan 11:00 to 22.00

I’m pleased to say that 2025’s festival was very successful and we have therefore increased the beers to 70 casks. There will also be 9 ciders and 1 Perry.

Advance tickets will be available online shortly. Whether it's Christmas, Birthday or just a gift, tickets make a great present. See www.exeter.camra.org.uk for more details.

The Corn Exchange which is close to the main town centre is a superb venue for this type of festival. Hot and cold food will be available with wine and spirits being offered as an alternative which will be sold behind the Corn Exchange bar. In addition to all these lovely beverages, we will have games, tombola and products.

Tutored Tasting sessions
Last year we had “Les Grandes Bières de Wallonie” (or Great Wallonian ales) and “Belgium in Winter”, as well as "Exploring the world of the Artisan cidermaker" tutored cider tasting session. In 2026 we will again have two Beer sessions and one for Cider, as described below.

These highly sought-after tutored tasting sessions are ticket-only events; details can be found on our website when tickets go on sale early in November.

Our breweries, pubs and generally the hospitality industry are still suffering. Supporting CAMRA helps us help them. So please come along to the festival, try the different drinks and styles, and have a good time. Drinking responsibly of course.

Hope to see you there.

Cheers
Ray Dwan
Festival Organiser

Tutored Tasting Session: Friday 16th January at 13:00. Tickets £15.
"Understanding the difference between bitter beers and pale ales: past, present and future."

Beer writer Tim Webb will explain how two beer styles that began as one, first diverged and then grew wings, and where they may be headed now.

Six beers will be sampled to demonstrate the range of UK’s lighter coloured ales, from cooking bitter to the British take on Double IPA.

Our tutor is Tim Webb, author of eight editions of the Good Beer Guide Belgium.

Tutored Tasting Session: Saturday 17th January at 11:30. Tickets £15.
"Meet the Cider Makers".

This year we bring you a unique opportunity to meet not one, but two of our award winning makers of Real Cider, both from within our own CAMRA branch area. One you may know, Barny Butterfield from Sandford Orchards, the other you may not, Claire Daniels from Rull Orchard in the Exe Valley, Gold winner of this year’s “Breakthrough Cider Maker Awards".

You will (of course) enjoy tasting samples from each to illustrate their individual approaches to the art of cider making.

Cheese & crackers available between samples!
Introduced by our Branch Cider rep. Yvonne Nolan.

Tutored Tasting Session: Saturday 17th January at 13:30. Tickets £15.
"Beer instead of Heineken - an illustrated history of the Dutch brewery revolution."

By 1980, Dutch brewing had reduced to three or four international brand lagers and a couple of stragglers.
Today, the country has over 600 breweries and one of the most vibrant beer scenes in Europe.

Six beers from independent Dutch breweries will show a few of the ways in which Belgium’s northern neighbour has learned to escape from its shadow. Beer writer Tim Webb will explain how that happened.

Our tutor is Tim Webb, author of eight editions of the Good Beer Guide Belgium.
