See more about this pub on WhatPub, CAMRA's national pub guide.
Situated in a small tranquil village, this proper country inn has been in the Good Beer Guide for over thirty five years. Four handpumps are available, three for ale and one for Cider. Covid saw the demise of one of their primary suppliers, so now they rotate the beers from regional breweries and often sell "seasonal" specials. Real cider from at least three different cider producers is either sold on handpump or from Bag in a box. Fruit ciders are also available. There are two rooms around the bar and the warming woodburner is lit in the cooler months. There is an outdoor garden, while the patio is festooned with grapevines in the summer. Four legged friends are welcome in all areas, including the B&B accommodation. There is a separate modern dining room available at the rear of the inn where good wholesome home made food is served. The B&B accommodation is well used by walkers and hikers.
