The Double Locks is situated in an idyllic location on the Exeter Ship Canal. It is just the place for a family day out, celebration, or having a lazy summer's afternoon next to the water and a short, scenic, walk from the new Marsh Barton Station. Many events are held during the year, such as real ale and cider festivals, annual dog show, and live music (see website for details). There is a large garden for the warmer weather, and two log fires and snug rooms inside the pub to keep out the winter chill. The permanent real ale comes form the Wells and Young's range, with rotating guests usually from local breweries, with always one from Hanlon's, and usually one from Bays In the spring and summer months you can enjoy some real cider. 4 changing ciders in the box. Good-value home-cooked meals are served all day, 11.30 to 9 Monday to Saturday and 11.30 to 8 on Sundays. There is a large marquee where private parties can be held (see website for what's available). The Double Locks is family and dog friendly, and there are facilities for pre-booked camping. Shuts earlier than stated times once last customers leave. Stays open longer in summer.
