Here are the plans for the outing this Saturday 13th July 2024 organised by Jose and Bob

Train from Exeter Central 10.32 ( St.Davids 10.37) to Okehampton. Walk (about 2.5 miles, paths and little roads) to Belstone and the Tors Inn. Eat and drink there -- they have an outside servery (The Shed) and masses of seating viewing the Moor. Inside areas available if raining. Return to Okehampton either straight to the station (trains 3.25, 4.25, 5.25, 6.30, 7.31) or to the pubs in town first. The return walk can be by a different route along the East Okement river. OR a slightly more adventurous route along Belstone Cleave and the River Taw to Sticklepath and its 2 pubs then a bus back to Exeter or Okehampton.

Another alternative is to catch the 6A bus from Exeter bus station at 12.05 and get off at Tongue End Cross (2 stops after Sticklepath) at about 1.05 and walk the fairly level 1 mile road to Belstone. Return buses about 4.45 and 6.45 to Exeter.

Another activity (suggested by Jose of course) is a swim in a pool in the river!! This may be not a good idea after much alcohol!

Here's hoping for good weather -- if really rough maybe we'll just visit the attractions of Okie
