The Firestation in Topsham closed in 2020. It was about to be demolished, when a local, Dan Gould, whose family had worked there as firemen stepped in and bought the iconic premises. He did not really know what to do, but a collaboration with Exmouth's Crossed Anchors Brewery has resulted in a new Brewery Taphouse. The central bar has numerous keg beers, while to the side and on the bar are three handpumps. Rotating ciders, one always meets CAMRA definition of Real. Bench seating around the outside wall is complemented by tables and chairs, some of the chairs being Crossed Anchors kegs with cushions on top. A conservatory-style front extension was added in Dec 2023. From the bar/seating area one can easily see all the brewery equipment.
