See more about this pub on WhatPub, CAMRA's national pub guide.
A genuine free house, that was converted from cottages in around 1890. This pub has changed little over the years, although modern toilets were added in a tasteful extension to one of the bars in 2009. The other has many original features including a real fire in winter. The handpumps are not in use, ale is fetched from the cellar. Good-value home-cooked food is served lunchtimes and evenings. The village heritage centre in the car park is worth visiting. Opening hours may change, it is advisable to phone. The pub has recently changed hands, and many changes have been made!
