This is a large pub with a large car park, which has recently reopened with a new landlord after several months of closure. The premises have been renovated, without spoiling the old features of the building. Stone slab floors and exposed beams are a feature, with several comfortable seating and eating areas. There is also a large garden outside for those sunny days and evenings. The new landlord is focussing on the food side of the business and the menu features an everyday carvery, plus a range of home-cooked, popular pub classic dishes. There is a discount of 20% for senior citizens on Mondays to Fridays. At present there are two regular beers from the Otter Brewery, with a guest ale planned in the future. On the day of the survey the beers were served at a good cellar temperature, despite the British summer pushing the temperature into the low 20s. The landlord has plans for developing the business further, but it is a promising start to a work in progress.
