A Wetherspoons pub named after Nancy Perriam whose sewing skills earned her a berth in the navy where she also acted as a powder monkey. Nancy lived in nearby Tower Street. A powder monkey was naval slang for boys and girls who filled shells and cartridges with gunpowder on board ships of war. The building was converted from local newspaper offices. The bar is adjacent to the central seating areas, with a number of rooms off it. Good selection of ales.
