Victorian pub near the town centre, with a public car park opposite. A genuine free house, much enlarged by the present owners. It provides three distinct air conditioned drinking areas, and an outside patio area with heated awnings, Games include pool, darts and euchre. Televised sport is prominent in the pub and there is live music early every Sunday evening. Well-behaved dogs are welcome. Regular beers are from the West Country and the pub is home to the Checkstone Brewery. One Checkstone beer is normally available and seven keg ciders which will occasionally include Checkstone Cider and two real ciders. Happy Hour 5-7pm Monday - Friday, 50p off a pint.
