As the pub is situated between Queen Street and Victoria Road, new licensees who took over in 2June 2024 renamed the pub. It was formerly called the Merchant. This large pub with a beer garden at the rear is family run and offers a traditional pub experience combined with quality food and drink. Three hand pumps are currently in use, with one regular and two rotating guest ales from SW breweries. Four keg ciders and several flavoured cider in bottles are also available. There is a pool table and large TV screens, mainly showing sporting events.
