A friendly and popular backstreet local, offering good beer and chat. It has won the CAMRA branch Community pub of the year several times and has previously been branch pub of the year. Traditional games are played such as darts and euchre. In the snug bar a book club and knitting club take place. Regular live music including a weekly folk night takes place along with a monthly quiz. The pub hosts an annual beer festival normally late winter.
